Proposal by JPods for Ottawa System *now, I can't say this is the BEST example, but there are a lot of points worth considering located in the "detail Ottawa packet". I don't think the vehicle and style is as appealing as other models, as many people prefer being supported from below rather than hanging. However the narrow beam is less visually intrusive.
JPods *many benefits provided by PRT to consider
A PDF presentation by SkyTran, again listing benefits.

PRT/Podcars/PAT = PRT Videos

The Swedish Rail Agency has reviewed and approved the Safety Case, proving the Vectus system to have a safety level as good as or better than railway, metro etc currently operating in Sweden and Europe and are poised for system installation beyond their test track. The system was tested in Sweden where there exist similar winter conditions to places such as Ottawa. This is a great video showcasing the advantages of PRT.

Just what I have been waiting for, Vectus PRT preforming in the snow:

Masdar is a zero-carbon emissions community being developed in the U.A.E. They will ban cars, and instead will have a PRT network for internal travel needs, with LRT connecting to other communities in the area. Masdar is also being developed to be very pedestrian friendly (so much easier without cars!). August 20 2008 they broke ground and Masdar is scheduled to be completed in 2016 and I'm pretty sure once that happens, the demand for PRT will skyrocket. And I have to say when the people who are getting rich on oil, are becoming so interested in alternative energy... I think that says something about the oil supply.

Virtual fly-through of Masdar - note podcar in screen shot.

ULTra is another PRT company and it uses battery powered vehicles.

The ULTra model is currently being installed at Heathrow Airport in London UK. First operation is scheduled for Spring 2009.
